On Thursday, March 21, the Tennis and Pickleball Club courts in Newport Beach, California, swung into action for a good cause as Project Access Resource Centers staged its second-annual charity fundraising pickleball tournament. The afternoon of fun, sport, and Hawaiian-inspired attire raised $32,489 to support low-income families throughout California and the country by showcasing the fastest-growing sport in the U.S.

45 players participated in Project Access’ Second-Annual Charity Pickleball Tournament to support their mission.

With nearly 50 high-energy and competitive attendees, the afternoon included two solid hours of play, a beginner’s clinic with the club’s resident pickleball pro, a swag bag, prizes, an array of refreshments and taco bar spread, an opportunity drawing with curated raffle baskets, and a breezy “Spirit of Aloha” vibe.

The $32,489 raised through this pickleball tournament will help ensure that the most vulnerable families within our Project Access communities have a home and support system that helps secure a promising future.

Although Project Access is one of the country’s most successful resident services providers, such as vital on-site health, education, and employment services for families, children, and seniors living in affordable housing, the $37,489 raised through this pickleball tournament is much appreciated. These funds will help provide vulnerable families within our Project Access communities in 17 states nationwide with a support system that helps secure a promising future.
