Project Access Resource Centers has named Jordan Whitis as its new Director of Community Relations for the Orange-based non-profit organization. Before joining Project Access, Jordan served as the Director of Business Development and Fundraising for Pegasus Steel (in Atlanta, Georgia), the largest U.S. military defense fabricator, where she was responsible for overseeing the growth of their security sector within the K-12 and higher education segments.

After studying business and information systems at Georgia Southern University, Whitis began making an impact in the construction and building products industry. While at Pegasus Steel, Whitis oversaw team efforts in marketing, social media, sales, PR, donor engagement, and event campaigns, driving a 30% growth in the education division’s revenue within the last year. She also developed and executed comprehensive fundraising plans, mobilizing school resources to achieve results ranging from $300,000 to $1M per school for safety and security improvements.

“In her new role, Jordan brings a wealth of experience to Project Access from a diverse professional background in construction, business development, fundraising, and marketing,” said Kristin Byrnes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Project Access Resource Centers, in announcing Whitis’ appointment. “We look forward to having Jordan contribute her strategic insights to our marketing and fund development efforts, especially as we celebrate our milestone 25th anniversary.”

Additional leadership positions held by Whitis include National Accounts Manager for Construction Specialties (Based in Lebanon, New Jersey) and an Account Executive for Shaw Industries (HQ in Dalton, Georgia). As a Co-founder of Legacy Events, she plays a large role in their event planning, partnerships, marketing, and fundraising efforts. Whitis graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

“The work of Project Access is more vital and beneficial than ever to the communities and residents it serves,” said Whitis upon assuming her new role. “I’m honored to join an organization whose goal is to keep families and seniors secure through housing, employment assistance, education, and food support, and I look forward to fortifying its mission through strategic community relations.”
