We’re both delighted and excited that Kristin Byrnes, our CEO & President here at Project Access, has been honored as one of the nominees in the annual Women in Business Awards presented by the Orange County Business Journal. According to the OCBJ, “Women-led businesses are an economic force, fueling innovation, growth, and job creation in the region.” There is no better example of this statement than Project Access under Kristin’s leadership where our non-profit organization successfully endured the pandemic while still significantly helping our valued communities and residents.

Following years of serving in leadership roles in the nonprofit sector, Kristin began her career with Project Access in 2004 and was promoted from executive vice president to CEO and president in 2010. Under Kristin’s leadership, Project Access has become the leading provider of vital on-site health, education, and employment services to families, children, and seniors.

Kristin successfully implemented a unique roadmap of new programs and service offerings based on the needs of residents and prospects from a broad range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds living in affordable and workforce housing communities across the country. Under her leadership, Project Access has expanded to 80 communities across the country, providing health, education, and employment services to help stabilize and strengthen households.

Throughout 2020 Kristin’s stewardship successfully navigated Project Access through enormous challenges posed by the pandemic; pivoting the organization to directly address critical needs of residents including food, distribution of additional resources, and targeted wellness calls. She and her team served more than 22,500 individuals and ensured families remained stabilized and supported.

Again, we congratulate Kristin on this honor, the Project Access team and all of our communities and residents who make our combined success possible.
