Project Access Goes to Angels Stadium
On Saturday, September 8, 2007, 150 Project Access clients attended the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim vs. Cleveland Indian's game. This family fun filled field trip was made possible by The Angels Baseball Foundation. The families of Project Access were the big winners that day. In addition to enjoying the opportunity of attending the game, all 150 attendees were treated to traditional baseball snacks and baseball caps. Everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you, Angels Baseball Foundation!

Northern California News...
"National Night Out 2007"
National Night Out 2007 on Filbert Street in the city of Oakland was a huge success! For the first time, the residents of three affordable housing apartment communities, including City Towers, joined together to host a community-building event. At least 190 individuals showed up for the event and it was pure community fun. This event marks the beginning of a community coming together and thinking about safety together. Anissa Basoco-Villareal from the Alameda County Family Law Center joined the festivities and offered a presentation on domestic violence. The Oakland police and fire departments also joined in the fun. Alexis Cobbins, Service Associate for the Project Access Family Resource Center at City Towers Apartments, and a few of the children from this apartment community worked the face painting table, and all the kids just loved it. The residents who attended enjoyed food, games, music, dancing in the streets and there was no shortage of smiling happy faces.
"What great news, great organizing and thank you! I'm glad to hear this event was a success," said Councilmember Nancy Nadel on National Night Out 2007. It was a wonderful event that brought the community together. Thank you to MORH 1, Acorn and City Towers Apartments!

Grant Announced
Project Access is pleased to announce that Wells Fargo has become a new community partner in our effort to further our mission in Northern California. In September, the Corporate, Municipal and Escrow Solutions (CMES) division of Wells Fargo Community Trust Services granted Project Access $10,000 for program services in Northern California where we currently operate seven Family Resource Centers. The grant will focus on after-school tutoring and enrichment activities for youth and financial literacy and ESL instruction for adults interested in improving job and financial stability. The grant would not have been possible without the personal advocacy of Advisory Board Member Thomas Demchuck, Vice-President of Wells Fargo Banks Trust Services division. Thank you, Tom!
