Program Highlights
PATRONS for Project Access Holiday ReCap
We kicked off the New Year so thankful for a very successful
Second annual Holiday Adopt-a-Family Program. More than 100 needy families were adopted this holiday season by generous local supporters of Project Access, receiving everything from home necessities, toiletries, school clothes, toys, gift cards, holiday trees and meals, to very special gifts such as bicycles and Heelys that the kids will remember for a lifetime!! Many donors even played “Santa” delivering their gifts directly to the appreciative families, who were overwhelmed with gratitude. It was a memorable experience for all!
We thank all friends and donors who reached out to help others this holiday season.
Special thanks to
PATRONS Linda
Wirta and Debe Deck who organized
the staff, parents and
students of Newport Coast Elementary, and initiated their own Helping
Hands Christmas Project on behalf of the Project Access drive.
Seven classrooms adopted an amazing total of 37 Project Access
families. We are so grateful
to you all for your hard work and dedication during such a busy time of
year – as you can see from the smiling faces above, your energy and
kindness did not go unrewarded.
Project
Access also extends its appreciation to NORDSTROMS
and NORDSTROMS RACK in
Costa
Mesa who both held toy drives on behalf of Project Access over the holidays.
These gifts were handed out by Santa at the holiday parties held
at each property primarily to the children of families who had not
signed up for the adoption program.
THANK YOU all for opening your hearts and
putting smiles on so many faces over the holidays!!!

|
Project Access congratulates 14 year-old resident Rosie Navarro, a ninth grader at Anaheim High School, for being selected an
ABC Channel 7 COOL KID. Rosie was nominated for this honor by Project Access Service Coordinator Sara Wall, who wanted to recognize Rosie for all the hard work and dedication she’d shown to her friends and neighbors while volunteering at the Project Access Family Resource Center at Park Vista Apartments in Anaheim. For several years after school, Rosie, who is also a cheerleader, has come to the center to help the younger children with their homework and to teach the girls dance. She was recently interviewed by Channel 7 Weatherman Danny Romero and her segment aired on ABC7 News several times in late January.
Rosie, we are very proud of you, and we thank you for all that you do to support Project Access!! We love having you on our team!
